Do you offer hydraulic cylinder repair services for existing crane cylinders?
We offer comprehensive hydraulic cylinder repair services including rod re-chroming, bore honing, seal replacement, and complete rebuilds. Send us the cylinder or detailed photos of the damage for an evaluation and repair quotation. In many cases, rebuilding an existing cylinder is more cost-effective than purchasing new, especially for large-bore crane cylinders.
What is the difference between a single acting and double acting hydraulic cylinder for crane use?
A single acting hydraulic cylinder uses hydraulic pressure in one direction and relies on gravity or a spring for the return stroke. A double acting hydraulic cylinder applies hydraulic pressure in both directions, giving full force control for both extension and retraction. Most crane functions such as boom luffing, outrigger deployment, and counterweight adjustment use double acting cylinders for precise bidirectional control.
Can your crane hydraulic cylinders withstand extreme temperatures in desert or arctic environments?
Yes. Our standard temperature range is -40 degrees C to +80 degrees C. For extreme heat applications, we use FKM (Viton) seals and high-temperature hydraulic fluid compatibility. For extreme cold, we specify low-temperature NBR or HNBR seals and ensure all metallic components are impact-tested at the required low temperature to prevent brittle fracture.
What minimum order quantity do you require for crane hydraulic cylinders?
We have no minimum order quantity. We are equally comfortable producing a single prototype cylinder for a new crane design as we are fulfilling a 200-piece annual supply contract. Every order receives the same level of engineering attention, quality control, and testing regardless of quantity.
Do you ship hydraulic cylinders to Mexico and Latin America?
We regularly ship to Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Peru, Argentina, and other Latin American countries. We handle export documentation, and we can arrange delivery to your door via sea freight or air freight depending on urgency. Many of our Mexican customers receive orders within 5 to 7 weeks from order confirmation including transit time.
How do I know which hydraulic cylinder components need to be replaced during a rebuild?
During a rebuild, all elastomeric seals, O-rings, wiper seals, and wear rings should be replaced as standard practice. The piston rod surface and bore surface are inspected for wear, scoring, or corrosion. If the rod chrome is damaged beyond polishing, it requires re-chroming. If the bore shows scoring beyond the seal’s ability to compensate, it may need honing. Our technical team provides detailed rebuild guidance with dimensional tolerances for every hydraulic cylinder component.
What warranty do you provide on crane hydraulic cylinders?
All our crane cylinders carry a standard 18-month warranty from the date of shipment or 12 months from commissioning, whichever occurs first. The warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal operating conditions. Extended warranty terms are available for long-term supply agreements and fleet contracts.
